First Week College 2010

First week back at school and I am already exhausted. It was an extremely draining week. Not only from classes but from the emotional switch from being in a wonderful relationship to being single again. It is weird to be back and know that he is not here. How am I going to get through this? I will tell you. I have been keeping up in my journal for over a week now. Writing in it every night. Nothing to strenuous just a few lines about my day. It really makes you notice the little miracles that happen every day that are usually over looked. I have been reading my scriptures every night too. The combination of writing, reading and praying is what is carrying me through this rough time. My only hope is that it will get easier and these next two years of my life will zip past me.

Little Miracles

So latley I have been praying for help because I am afraid of how I will react after Kyle leaves and I am back in school. I am nervous that I will be very depressed and lonley because not only is he leaving but many of my friends have graduated EAC and wont be going back. On Tuesday July 27th there was a YSA activity. None of my friends were going and I thought to myself "I'll just stay home and work on my quilt" but something told me to stop being lame and go to the activity. When I got there I felt very out of place and didn't really feel comfortable but after a while everyone started to play some card games. I sat next to this girl named Sadie. She was super nice and we ended up talking for a really long time. After a few minuets she told me that she went to EAC! I got really excited, come to find out she and I are in the same ward at school and she has been looking for friends to hang out with too! It was such an answer to my prayers to find a great person who wants to be friends. Heavenly Father truly does hear and answer our prayers and even helps us overcome our weaknesses in the process.

Santa Monica Peir

Today my family and I went down to Santa Monica Peir. It was so cool! The weather was great and it was actually a little bit cold at times. Sean, Madison and I got our names painted in fancy Chinese pictures. They turned out beautiful. Also Sean and I went on the Pacific Wheel. It was absolutely amazing. We could see for ever off the top of it! We could see everything! It was a super fun day.

Wednesday Dinner

On wednesday night I decided to be creative and make a dinner that I had never tried before. It was called Cuban Chicken Fricassee. I found the recipe online and decided to give it a try. I knew that Kyle was coming over and that my Mom was going to be super busy so I thought I would help out. The dinner turned out great! It was super tasty I felt like a proper chef haha. Kyle and I were the only ones here when it was ready so we ate our shair and I saved the rest for my Mom. After dinner Kyle and I went swimming. About an hour later my Mom, sister and sister's friend got home. The girls decided to some swimming with us. It was all very fun. Later when Sean got home he came swimming with Kyle and I. By that time Madison and her friend had gone inside. After swimming, Kyle and I decided to watch Sherlock Homes and eat some Bunny Tracks ice cream together. It was a great night!

The end of the fun, back into the grind

Sunday and Monday of this week all the family left to go back home. It was so sad because after two weeks of fun we had to see them go. Now we are back into the grind of things. My mom felt really lonley on Monday after everyone was gone so we went bowling. It was really fun to spend time with my mom, sister, and brother. We all did really well. After that we went and visited my uncle Mark and Connor and had dinner with them. We then decided to go and visit my boyfriend Kyle at his work. I got him a candy bar and took it into him. He was really excited to see me haha.

Bang, Bang, Click

My family and I are up north for the week visiting Aunt Maybelle and Uncle Bill. So I went shooting today with my Dad, Uncle Dave, Sean, Tanner and Riley. It was really fun I'm a pretty good shot haha. My favorite gun was the AR15 I actually shot the target that I was aiming for. It was a perfect day to shoot because it was cloud cover and only sprinkled a little bit. I took some really great pictures and stuff it was super fun!

Saturday and Sunday my family and I went to the Grand Canyon. It was so beautiful and having a lot of family there made it so much fun. We got there on Saturday afternoon and enjoyed the majesty of the canyon pretty much all day. We then checked into our hotel room at the Super 8 in Williams AZ. Some people went swimming and I really wanted to go but I forgot to bring a swimming suite so my mom and I decided to try and find one in town. Williams is a very small town just off route 66. There are practically no stores for that sort of thing. We found a Family Dollar and a ended up buying some shorts and underwear to swim with. We got back to the hotel and I changed into my make shift swim suite and headed out to the pool. No sooner had I left the hotel room everyone came up the stairs and said, "its time for dinner, oh and the pool closes in one hour" so I had no use for my swim suite haha. We went to dinner at Doc Holiday's stake house the food was so good! We had live entertainment and everything! So halfway through dinner there is a huge crash, my uncle Dave had knocked over Sean's glass of Sprite and it spilled all over the floor. The poor busboy had to mop it up it was very funny.
The next day we all toured the town of Williams. They had shops and really cool Route 66 momentos. We took tons of pictures it was cool to see all the old stuff. After walking around a little bit we got into the car and headed back home.
